“I am a product of the Albuquerque, New Mexico public school system.  After a tour in South Vietnam I returned home to work in the semiconductor industry as a professional welder.  I obtained seven federal welding certified certificates in ferrous and non-ferrous metals and in plastics.  I brought that experience into the art world.”

“Fabricating art in metal became my passion.  I then moved to foundry work; creating sculpture in clay or wax, then casting them in aluminum, cast iron or bronze.”

“The New Mexico Veterans Memorial in Albuquerque exhibits my life-sized bronze honoring the Vietnam Veteran.”

George has numerous awards for his in two dimensional drawings and paintings.  He works with graphite pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic and oil.  He also paints on steel with fire.

OLD GLORY

 4 foot X a 8 foot sheet of steel

The sculpture is on display at the Village of Tijeras Canyon Military Memorial

This rendering of the American Flag is meant to symbolize the Vietnam era. As a Vietnam Veteran and an artist, I created this metal sculpture to portray the feelings of the war that remain with in me to this day.

OLD GLORY is torn, to describe our fractured nation, red and white stripes are divided. The white stars symbolize the soldiers who lost their lives in action, the MIA's and POW's. The illusion of the stars falling out of the flag are a tribute to those who have returned but are homeless.

THEY ARE THE TRUE STARS

                                PTSD and ME

PTSD and me is an oil painting, 48 inches high, 24 inches          wide.

In the lower right-hand corner you'll see my helmet and shoulder's.

While lying in a rice paddy my life took a change. The vine growing  out of the helmet eventually spells PTSD.

The painting talks about  me and my PTSD, and troubles I had to in civilian life.

Nightmares and alcoholism is small part, of what the lady had for the next 50 years.
